This is without doubt the most famous landmark in Tromsø. Just across the water from the city centre you can already spot this modern and unique piece of architecture that resembles the landscape of a glacier. 11 white concrete panels form this modern church since 1965. The inside is beautiful with its 2940 pipes that make up the organ and its 23 meter wall of glass depicting the resurrection of Christ. The cathedral is open to visit, but can be closed for services. Check with the tourist information in town what the schedule is that day. The cathedral is wheelchair accessible.
