The eye-catcher of the city centre would be the cathedral. This is the world’s northernmost Protestant cathedral from 1861 although the former building most likely dated back from the 13th century. It is also Norway’s only wooden cathedral, which in an environment like this is pretty unusual. It is only open upon request or for concerts. It is wheelchair accessible.
