Kampung Komodo is a small village about 3 km away from the tender pier. If you don’t care for dragons this will be worth it. The children will give you a warm welcome and it is really a great inside look into how people in one of the most remotest areas in the world live.
About 8 km away from the tender pier you will find Pink beach. This is a very unique beach known for its snorkelling and beach. You can only reach it by boat. The reason why the beach is pink is because of the red corals in the bay.
There is a small market at the tender pier that you can visit. This has all your typical souvenirs like wooden dragons and t-shirts. USD and IDR are accepted here.
The pier where you arrive is right at the ranger station. You will have great photo opportunities here to prove you have actually done it. This is where your excursions starts. Other than the ranger station there is really not much around except for the souvenir market.
